June Wishlist | 7 must haves for summer

Summer is officially here! For humid-all-year-round sunny Singapore residents like yours truly though there isn't much of a temperature change. However, that does not mean that we cannot go and revamp our wardrobes for a new summer vibe. So here are some items which I have been lusting over recently that are perfect additions to your summer looks.

1. What better time than summer to wear lightweight fabrics like satin and chiffon? Especially when they are in the form of beautiful  strappy tops. A piece like this is also so versatile as the material allows it to be dressed down or up.

2. The jackets and sweaters are back in the closet for many. So it feels right to tone town on the accessories too. That is why I have been currently craving more dainty pieces of jewelry. These pendants are the perfect example of that.

3. With the sun out, it is time to take advantage of wearing sunglasses as a complementary piece to any outfit. I feel like it's time for a new pair of shades to add to the collection.

4. I have recently notices such a spike in slip on sneaker wearers. From fashion blogs, photos I've seen on instagram to fashionable friends. The best thing about this style of footwear? It is as equally as comfortable and practical as it is fashionable. I've got to get my hands on a pair.

5. I think I can safely say that neon nails are out of the question when it comes to everyday wear. So going with my whole minimalist take on this summer, silver polish is my new thing. I'm still in search for a perfect mate silver nail polish tough. Any suggestions?

6. Sweat is already dripping down my face just thinking about wearing long pants in this heat. But instead of sticking to those go-to denim cuff, I think it's time for some more lightweight fun shorts. You can even dress up these too! Add some strappy heels and you are ready to go.

7. Just when you thought I was forgetting the crop top, here it is. I have also been loving lace pieces at the moment so a lace detailed crop sounds like a dream come true.

Woke up like this. Flawless

Summer has arrived! It being my 'O' level year though, there is just as much school work during the summer as ever. This calls for some mandatory procrastination, in this case, in the form of enjoying some pure genius work by photographer David Roemer.

This editorial for Numéro Russia is done to perfection. With a whole light colour scheme for the clothing, this editorial screams summer. A very classy one at that. A brilliant vibe was created with the on point styling- dainty lace, pleats and mesh with a touch of gold metallics brought a delicate feminine feel. Perfectly paired with the laser cuts and washed out leather pieces. And lets not forget about the multiple ear studs and fine tattoo on the beautiful model Katlin Aas which come together to give the editorial that carefree masculine touch.

I am pretty obsessed with this editorial. Which may or may not have to do with the appearance of pieces by Wang, Proenza Schouler and Celine. Sounds a lot like a dream summer closet to me.

Bed hair and minimal natural makeup were the perfect organic addition to the whole look to give it a "I woke up like this, we flawless" Beyonce look (and who wouldn't want that?!).

March inspiration & playlist

So here are some of the tunes I've been enjoying this month

Tori Kelly - All In My Head

Bombay Bicycle Club - Shuffle

Bon Iver - I Can't Make You Love Me / Nick of Time

Passenger - Hearts on Fire w/ Ed Sheeran

Bridgit Mendler - 5:15

Shakira - Can't Remember To Forget You ft. Rihanna

and here's what's been happening this month

Just like the previous two months, the weeks have going in a flash this month. My first school term just ended and so this week I have slightly less classes as a sort of 'term break'. So here I am enjoying, for the first time in around a month (!), the sound of rain outside my window. On top of that I can finally enjoy the comfort of my own bed after having just facilitated 2 camps this past week (talk about building a close relationship with my sleeping bag).

In general though, this month my goal has been to focus. Leaving behind the pointless hours spent on youtube videos, scrolling through tumblr or on spontaneous American Horror Story marathons. With classes getting harder ('O' levels this year -panic mode: on) and more and more collections like the ready to wear fall '14 ones to admire, the time has come to maximize those daylight hours. On that same note, as you can see I've started making monthly goalsI have come to the realization that there is no need to wait for the new year to reflect on what is going on in our lives and what could be made better. So here's a challenge,

 What is your monthly goal?
(yes it's already mid March but better now than never!)
